Applications are invited for a Christian Youth & Family Outreach Worker to work alongside the Minister and Kirk Session to build relationships with the congregation’s young families and to identify and implement ways to engage young people within the
congregation in order to encourage them in their faith development and to seek ways in which the love of Christ can be shared in the local community. This is a new full-time position, for 37.5 hours per week, including evening and weekend working.
Salary scale: Band B (£22401 – £26290)
This post is a fixed term for one year, with a possibility of extension.

Transform Project Youth Support Worker

The Transformative Education for Positive Relationships Project (The Transform Project) has been awarded Peace 4 funding to support 120 young people per year from areas of disadvantage and social exclusion to successfully engage in informal educational processes that build confidence, skills and resilience in young people. The 4 Year Project will be delivered through a collaborative partnership involving Youth Link: NI (Lead Partner) and Youth Initiatives and Mencap. The Transform Team and Youth Workers will seek to reduce barriers to learning, enhance employment prospects and enable young people to take their place as active citizens and peace builders within their own communities and beyond.

Youth Initiatives’ two Transform cohorts (of the consortium’s 6) will work with 20-25 young people per year based in four youthwork centres in areas of social need. The youthworker based in the Fountain’s Cathedral Youth Club will be twinned with the Derry Search Youthworker based in the Creggan area. The youthworker based at Damask in East Lisburn will be twinned with the YI Poleglass worker in West Belfast.

Youth Initiatives seeks four Youth Workers who have excellent communication skills, familiarity with a relationship-based youth work model, and ability to quickly develop connections with young people from CNR or PUL backgrounds and equip them to enter positive relationships with young people from another community. Fitting in well and contributing to the overall community mission and ethos of the individual youthwork bases and to YI is integral to the post.

The Evangelical Community Church is currently seeking candidates for a Director of Teen Ministry to oversee ECC’s efforts to make disciples of teens. This is a full-time position that will report directly to a member of the pastoral staff, who will assist in monitoring performance and setting goals and objectives in line with ECC’s vision, mission, and strategy.

We are looking for a passionate Director of Teen Ministry who will help youth to follow Christ by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.

The Director of Teen Ministry candidate must have a minimum of five years relevant experience delivering successful programming as a youth leader in a local church and with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Bible, Theology or Ministry.
